Basics: Erika Kim Milenkovic

Monday, November 18, 2013 at 8:30am to 5:30pm

Gormley Gallery 39.352972, -76.62217

In her work, Erika Kim Milenkovic explores the human and natural world by examining how things live, grow, age and die. Ms. Milenkovic uses materials that are ubiquitous in modern society such as newspaper, advertisements, and junk mail to archive the daily human experience. She experiments with ancient creative processes such as sewing, crocheting, or weaving to connect her work to the past and the natural creativity of our ancestors. The resulting creations give a new perspective on how commercial and handmade products reflect human life.
