Michael Lutzky shares his experiences as a 25-year-old Baltimore Sun photojournalist sent to Sarajevo in the winter of 1993. His editor told him, ‘‘don’t come back with war stories;'' be a ''visual correspondent'' of life, not death. Although snipers shot at him daily from 250 yards, it wasn't until the last day of his assignment that he met the war in Bosnia close-up. He was leaving Sarajevo to fly home February 5 when he was witness to the now-famous market bomb that killed 68 people, and some say, marked the end of the conflict.
