“Looking Away” is part of the Artscape Gallery Network of exhibitions highlighting the 2013 Janet and Walter Sondheim Prize applicants, along with artists working throughout the region. The exhibit presents the work of artists whose practice engages with the photograph’s descriptive capacity. Using a variety of techniques, these artists interrogate the medium’s role as record and memory.
