“Looking Away,” an exhibition of works by local and regional artists curated by Geoff Delanoy, will be shown in Gormley Gallery at Notre Dame of Maryland University, starting Monday, July 8, and running through Saturday, July 27.

An opening reception will take place Friday, July 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is open to the public and free of charge. Admission is free. For more information, call 410-532-5582 or log onto www.ndm.edu/gormleygallery.

“Looking Away” is part of the Artscape Gallery Network of exhibitions highlighting the 2013 Janet and Walter Sondheim Prize applicants, along with artists working throughout the region. The exhibit presents the work of artists whose practice engages with the photograph’s descriptive capacity. Using a variety of techniques, these artists interrogate the medium’s role as record and memory.
